Plymouth Theory Test Centre Directions

There is a parking lot near the test center. It costs 1.3 pounds an hour. It takes about two minutes to get there by walking.

station is approximately 0.5 miles from the test centre. Taking 10 minutes to walk, the station is located in the north-east part of the city. The test centre is located in the city’ s business district, directly opposite to the civic centre.

Book a test online

You need your: UK driving license number. email address. Credit or Debit Card.

Before you start

You must have lived in England for at least 185 days during the last year before taking your theory or driving test, and you must have passed both parts of the test. For lorries and buses, you need to pass the hazard perception section as well.

When you do not need a theory test

You must pass a theory test before booking a driving test to upgrade your licence. An automatic vehicle licence to a manual vehicle licence. From category A1 (small motorcycles) to category A2(medium motorcycles). If you've had the licence for at least two years. From category C1 (medium vehicles) to category C (Large Vehicles). Unless you passed a car driving test.

From minibus to bus. Any license to tow a trailer. You do NOT need to take a theory exam before booking a minivan or van.

BOOK A THEORY TEST AT Plymouth THEORY TEST CENTRE

There are two ways to take the theory tests. You may either book online, or go to a testing centre. Both options require you to bring along your provisional licence and pay £18.50 per test.

AFTER YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST

The DVSA now send e mails not letters to confirm your Theory Test booking. Check you provide correct email address so that you receive Confirmation on the date, time,address and reference number of your Theory Test. If you have not received an e mail, check your Junk Folder.Although not essential to take to the Theory Test Centre, it’s advisable to print this email to show to the centre Staff if any problems arise.

The driving licence you need

To get your provisional driving licence, you must first apply for a provisional driving license. You can do this online here. 

Book online

A valid UK driving licence with an NI address is required. A valid debit or credit card is needed for payment. Test fees apply.

Cancel or reschedule a test

You can reschedule or change your test online at: Providing you give DVA three days' notice, you may: Move or change your appointment Cancel your appointment Have a full refund of the fee. If you need rescheduling or cancelling your test, you must let DVA know at least three clear working day before your scheduled appointment time. For example, if you want to reschedule an appointment for a Friday, you should notify DVA by Monday.
