What is the theory test pass mark?

The pass mark for the car test is 85% and you must get at least 43 correct answers out of 50 multiple-choice questions to pass. To pass the hazard perception test, you must get at least 44 right answers out of 75.

Passing the theory test is a huge achievement, but it's far away from the end of your road trip. You need to focus on the practical driving test once you've been awarded your license. You need to provide 3 days notice before taking your theory test. Your test will be cancelled if you do not give 3 days notice. You get a full refund if you cancel your test within 3 days of when you took it.

AFTER YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST

You should be receiving an email confirming your booking. Please ensure you enter the correct email address when booking.

ATTENDING YOUR THEORY TEST

You should turn up early to Greenock Theory Test Center. Late arrivals may be refused entry and you'll lose the test booking fee if you're late. Your provisional driving licence photo card must be taken with you on the day of your theory test.

You need a valid UK passport to take the theory test. If you lose your licence, contact the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) who will send you a new one.
