Builth Wells Driving Test Centre is the best place to take your driving test in the UK. The theory test centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, and Saturday 9am to 1pm. The centre is closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

To book your theory test, you will need to provide your full name, date of birth, address, and a valid email address. You will also need to provide your driving licence number and postcode.

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST

when you have booked your test, you will be sent a confirmation email with your theory test date, time and location. Please check this carefully and contact the theory test centre if you need to change the date or time of your test.

You will need to bring your valid UK driving license with you on the day of your test, as well as any glasses or contact lenses that you need to wear for driving. You will also need to bring a form of identification, such as a passport or birth certificate.

ATTENDING YOUR THEORY TEST

When you arrive at the theory test center, you will be asked to sign in and show your driving licence. You will then be given a short briefing on what to expect during the test.

The test itself is made up of two parts – the multiple-choice part and the hazard perception part.

After the multiple-choice part of the test, you will have a short break before starting the hazard perception part. This part of the test is designed to assess your ability to spot potential hazards on the road.

You will be shown 14 video clips, each lasting around one minute. Each clip will feature one or more developing hazards. You need to click the mouse button as soon as you see a hazard developing that could cause the driver to take action, such as changing speed or direction.

You will score up to five points for each hazard, depending on how early you spot it. To pass, you need to score 44 out of 75.

There is no guarantee that you will pass the theory test the first time, but there are a few things you can do to improve your chances.

- Use online quizzes and mock tests to practise

- Make sure you understand the topics that you struggle with

- Stay calm and relaxed on the day of the test
